The Badrinath-Gangotri Yatra is a spiritual journey that combines two of the Char Dham sites in Uttarakhand, India. Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and Gangotri, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, are both located in the Garhwal Himalayas and hold immense significance in Hindu mythology. The journey typically starts at Badrinath, situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters. The Badrinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples and is believed to have been established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The temple is set against the backdrop of the Neelkanth Peak and is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. From Badrinath, the yatra proceeds to Gangotri, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters. Gangotri is the source of the Ganges River and is considered one of the holiest places in Hinduism. The main attraction is the Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga.
