Send EnquiryThe Yamunotri Yatra is a significant pilgrimage in the Char Dham circuit, located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. Situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River, which is considered sacred in Hinduism. The main attraction of the Yamunotri Yatra is the Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The temple is believed to be constructed by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. The trek to the temple is considered moderately difficult and covers a distance of about 6 kilometers from the town of Hanuman Chatti. The journey to Yamunotri is not just about visiting a temple; it is also about experiencing the natural beauty and serenity of the Himalayas. The trek takes pilgrims through lush forests, gushing rivers, and breathtaking mountain views, providing a unique opportunity to connect with nature and the divine.
Day 1 : Haridwar-Syanachatti
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Syanachatti. En-route visit Lakha Mandal Shiv Temple - ancient Hindu temple dedicated to lord Shiva. Arrive Syanachatti and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Syanachatti.
Day 2 : Syanachatti- Yamunotri
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Phool Chatti & start a trek to Yamunotri. (Either by walking or by horse or by Doli at own cost). After taking a bath in Jamunabai Kund’s warm water and having “Darshan” of “Yamunaji” back to Phool Chatti by trek. You will see Divya Shila - a place where devotees first workship before entering Yamunotri temple. Later visit Yamunotri Temple - Maharani Gularia of Jaipur constructed the temple. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again. Also visit Surya Kund - There are a Number of thermal springs near the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most significant of these is Surya Kund. Later return to Syanachatti and transfer to a hotel. Overnight stay in Syanachatti.
Day 3 : Syanachatti-Haridwar
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. Later drive back to Haridwar. If time permits then you can spend a few hours at Mussoorie. Arrive Haridwar and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar
